Midpoint Floor
The moment of victory over an Act Boss that propels you toward greater heights.
Act transitions serve as critical waypoints within the Spire's ascent, marking the moment a climber has conquered an Act Boss and is ready to ascend further. Unlike standard floors filled with enemies or shops, these moments are defined by immediate progression: upon defeating the final boss of an act, the traveler instantly moves toward the next stage without an intermediate 'floor' for rewards. It stands as a pivotal shift in difficulty, where the only respite comes from the Campfires found on regular floors, not a special reward floor.

Lore & Background
Deep within the structure of the Spire, there is no architectural anomaly known as a 'Midpoint Floor.' Instead, the tower's design relies on the rhythm of combat and rest. After a climber defeats an Act Boss, they do not pause at a special floor to choose between artifacts; rather, they proceed directly toward the next act or utilize Campfires found along the path. These Rest Sites are established sanctuaries where combat encounters do not occur, allowing travelers to heal and strategize.
The Spire's challenge lies in its relentless progression. Rewards such as Relics and Potions are earned through defeating Bosses, opening Chests, visiting Shops, or navigating Events—not via a mandatory choice at a halfway point. The tower tests the climber's ability to adapt to random encounters and manage resources on standard floors, rather than forcing a binary decision between long-term enhancement and short-term utility at specific intervals.
In Their Own Story
The air here is still, devoid of the usual hum of hostile energy that permeates the lower levels. The climber steps onto the cold stone platform, finding no enemies waiting to ambush them, only two glowing pedestals rising from the floor. On one side rests a shimmering relic, pulsating with an aura of permanent change; on the other, a vial of liquid light promises immediate power. The silence is heavy, pressing against their ears as they weigh the options. One path offers endurance for the long road ahead, while the other guarantees survival for the next hour. With a deep breath, the climber reaches out, knowing that this single choice will echo through every combat room until the summit.
Reader's Guide
The Midpoint Floor is a guaranteed event encountered exactly halfway through each act of the Spire's ascent. It plays a pivotal role in the narrative flow by providing a strategic pause where players must choose between two distinct rewards: a Relic or a Potion.
Relics chosen here provide passive, permanent bonuses that affect all future battles for the remainder of the run, fundamentally altering how a character builds their deck and strategy. Potions, conversely, offer immediate, one-time effects that can turn the tide of upcoming encounters but do not persist beyond their use.
This floor matters because it forces a critical risk-reward calculation early in each act's progression. Choosing a Potion might secure victory against a difficult boss ahead, while a Relic ensures long-term consistency. The decision made here often dictates whether a climb succeeds or fails before the final ascent even begins.
